Typical Foster Homes
Typical Foster Homes are a home where a cat can decompress and learn that humans provide love. This process can take anywhere from a couple days to a couple months. Typical foster homes will have the cat until they are adopted by their forever family.
Long Term Foster Homes
Long Term Foster Homes can range from pregnant or nursing mama cats, seniors, or cats that require a substantial amount of socialization or medical care. Each foster family and the foster coordinator will determine the best housing situation for each cat.
Emergency Foster Homes
Emergency Foster Homes are a soft place for a cat to land until a permanent foster family can be found. These cats are normally brought in by community members and require some sort of medical attention. They stay with an emergency foster family anywhere from one night to a week, and then will move to their permanent foster home after assessment. This may include new intakes of pregnant and nursing mamas who need a place to go before going to their permanent foster home.
Bottle Babies & Palliative Care Foster Homes
Bottle Babies & Palliative Care Foster Homes take care of the most sick and fragile cats. The dedication it takes to commit to this role is huge and unpredictable. Newborn bottle babies need to be fed, stimulated and cared for at least every 2-3 hours, including throughout the night. Whether you have past experience or are eager to learn, our Team can show you tips and tricks for success.
Palliative care fosters take care of senior cats that are with us as long as they are comfortable. The goal is to keep them happy, calm and fed. This role allows older stray cats, that wouldn't otherwise be adopted, to pass in the loving arms of someone who cares deeply for them.
