Volunteer
Arthur Animal Rescue is run entirely by volunteers. Without our volunteers, we wouldn't be able to continue saving stray and neglected cats across our communities. If you're interested in becoming an AAR Volunteer, please see our needs below, and send us an email on what you can help with!
Volunteer at Events
AAR hosts many events throughout the year to raise funds for our vet care costs. We rely on volunteers to organize, run, and support these events. If you're able to support at events, send us an email! Note; this is a great way for high school students to get their volunteer hours.

Volunteer to Support Mass Intakes
Mass Intakes can happen for a number of reasons, but they always occur with very short notice. We have a "Crisis Team" that will jump into action to save these cats. Then we need help with general care for the cats located at our Quarantine Location until they are placed in a foster home.

Join Our Team
Our Team is always growing! We are a diverse group of people, each with our own strengths, to bring to the rescue. We work together to find loving homes for cats in need.

Many of our admin team roles are online and can be done from anywhere, as long as you have a computer and access to the internet.

Volunteer by Driving
We have cats needing transportation in all of the communities that we serve; from Stratford to Kitchener to Guelph to Fergus/Elora, and the surrounding rural areas. Transportation needs arise due to vet appointments, foster placements or intake.

If you have some spare time to drive for us, please reach out and we will add you to our list.
Volunteer by Bottle Feeding
Bottle Babies, or orphans, are brought to the rescue when we are their last resort. Without a mother to feed them, they are left hungry and defenseless. Bottle babies require around the clock care for their first 6 weeks, including feeding every 2-3 hours, stimulating them to go to the washroom, and keeping them clean and dry. AAR is able to provide all the supplies you will need, and coaching on feeding techniques.
If you're able to bottle feed newborn kittens, please email us and we can add you to our list.
Volunteer by Fostering Cats with Medical Needs
Arthur Animal Rescue has taken in cats of all different medical needs. These cats must be cared for carefully and often require frequent vet visits to remain in stable health. Fosters who are able to be home throughout the day are essential for providing care to these cats. Unfortunately, if we don't have a foster for a medically needy cat, we aren't able to take them in and turn to other rescues for help.
